Crossposting two translations of interviews from somewhat recent magazines I posted last week.

Each member answer questions related to "surprises" - whether they like them, if they had to do a surprise date, best memorable surprises, if they had to surprise a member, which member surprises them, and which two other members they would want to live with if they had to live in a share house.

( Duet September 2014 - Our debut was of course a surprise, but I think everyone will talk about it, so... )

In a crosstalk, members imagine about themselves 20 years later and fantasize what kind of drama they'd do together then. The heroine is someone surprising...!? A short report of Another Future PV filming is included as well.

( Gekkan The Television October 2014 - A super comedic drama with Senga Kento as lead is born!? )

I haven't crossposted any of my translations since summer, so here they are, including a short one I just posted today. In the order of oldest to newest.

Members talk based on 26 keywords, from A to Z. From things they want to do to places they want to visit, they also talk about each member as members' names are part of the keywords.

( Duet July 2014 - I don’t want to think it’s something natural for everyone to come for us. That’s why I want to treasure the fact that those people came and I always think about how I want them to enjoy themselves completely. )

KisuMai's serial in Duet. This month was a special crosstalk with Busaiku. They talk about their thoughts on the unit forming, their performance at Tokyo Dome and their ambitions for the future.

( Duet January 2014 KisuTsuu - We panicked too much and got lost. )

Individually, they talk about another member and a side to them that only they know as members of the same group. Then in a group crosstalk, they talk about Another Future, their upcoming anniversary and future anniversaries. Even their 50th anniversary!?

( The Television 8/15 2014 - How old are we at our 50th anniversary though? I’ll be 78 years old? )

TVfan serial. Kitayama x Miyata. The interview happened on the morning of the day KisuMai debuted, so naturally, part of their conversation was about debut. They also answered a question from a reader about who is the older brother type and younger brother type within KisuMai to them.

( TVfan October 2011 - From my point of a view as a fan though, I feel jealousy with things like kissing scenes. )

KisuMai's serial in Duet. Members' columns about various things. Nikaido answers a question, Miyata talks about having his heart stolen, and Yokoo talks about something he owns. There is a short report about Ai no Uta no Utaou's press release conference as well as backstage bits from both Duet's spread and KisuMai's calendar.

( Duet February 2014 KisuTsuu - Snitching food party )

A few days ago, a CD shop let out news early unofficially, so quite a few people probably heard about the new single already, but today, during the first show at Tokyo Dome this tour, we got an official announcement and more.

KisuMai will be releasing a new single on 12/24 called "Thank you Jyan!" and will be holding fan events at Yokohama Arena in January 2015.

There has been news of Tamamori being spotted filming around the city for the past week or so, but we finally have an official announcement!

Tamamori will be starring in his first lead role of a movie which will be released next year. The title of the movie is "Raintree no Kuni", based on the novel of the same title. The novel is written by Arikawa Hiro, whose other works include Toshokan Sensou (Library Wars), Freeter, Ie wo Kau, Hankyuu Densha, and more.

The movie will be a pure romance story between Sakisaka Nobuyuki (Tamamori), a company/office worker, and Hitomi (Nishiuchi Mariya), the owner of a blog called "Raintree no Kuni". The story starts when the two start to exchange emails with each other.

Without more information being released, it's unknown as to what viewpoint they chose to take with the movie and how much they will reveal in the summary, but I have read the novel before, so just a bit of background information from me.

"Raintree no Kuni" is actually a book within in a book, having first appeared in "Toshokan Sensou". A character who works in the library recommends the book to a library user, and we only get a hint of what the book is about, but it piqued people's interest and Arikawa Hiro wanted to write the story as well, so eventually, this book-within-in-a-book became an actual story that got published.

The reason why the two characters started to exchange emails was because Nobuyuki was looking for reviews of a light novel he liked and he wanted to see if anyone shared his opinion of it because he wasn't satisfied with the ending. He stumbled upon Hitomi's blog during his search and emailed her for a more detailed version of her opinion, and they start to write each other more and such.

Nobuyuki is actually a Kansai person in the original book, but it's likely they will change some of the character details and setting, so who knows how much will be true to the novel.

We'll just have to wait for more details to be announced.

It has been announced that Busaiku members will be playing leading roles together in NTV's upcoming drama, "Heisei Busaiku Salaryman", scheduled to start 10/18. It is probably the same time slot as the currently airing "Kinkyori Renai".

The four members will be using their own names in the drama, but acting as salarymen/businessmen. The drama will be about realistic, common episodes within the daily life of a salaryman that anyone with the experience can relate to.

Nikaido will be playing a passionate company worker. Senga plays a worker who is strict towards women, but easy towards men (in terms of work, etc). Miyata is someone who is unable to read the atmosphere/act per situation. Yokoo plays someone who is senpai to the other three, but can't work very well/isn't good at his job.

They each made a comment. Nikaido said, "We were called by the manager, saying, 'I have something to tell you,' and to be honest, I thought we were going to be told, 'Busaiku is over.' Since it was about being leads in a drama though, I was very happy."

Senga said, "It's just like Busaiku to be able to do our first leads in a drama together, the four of us."

Miyata commented, "(My character) is too much like me that it's hard to act."

Yokoo appealed to viewers. "I'd be happy if even people who are presently working as salarymen would watch and see how we act our roles with everything we got."

Other members in the cast include Maiko, Minamisawa Nao, Nomaguchi Tooru, and Shiga Koutarou.

We got early release of information from SMAP x SMAP when they showed a preview of Nobunaga Concerto cast members at Bistro last week and being surprised at Taisuke being there, but today, we got an official announcement about him being in the drama!

Taisuke will be playing Maeda Toshiie, one of the warriors fighting under Nobunaga. Toshiie is his name he received at an older age though, so he may start off in the drama with his childhood name, Inuchiyo.

He is currently expected to appear in the drama starting in the second episode, to be aired October 20th at 21:00. In the beginning of the third episode, he will be practising sumo, so we may get to half-naked Taisuke!?

The producer had worked with Taisuke before in PRICELESS, and when he was thinking about who should play Toshiie, Taisuke's face popped up in his mind. According to the producer, Toshiie admires Nobunaga/Saburou and is like a kouhai to Saburou, and he was reminded of how Taisuke was like on PRICELESS' set in front of Kimura Takuya. It sounds like Taisuke was chosen thanks to all the effort he put in his previous works!
