[news] Kitayama backpacks across India

Kitayama will be having his first show by himself, titled J'J Kis-My-Ft2　北山宏光 ひとりぼっちインド横断バックパックの旅 ("Johnny's Journey: Kis-My-Ft2 Kitayama Hiromitsu Solo Backpacking Trip Across India")! The show will be aired on NTV and begins July 3rd (Tues) at 1:29am. No info yet on how many episodes/how long the show will last.

The premise of the show is basically that in order to "become more manly" and "have stronger confidence to not be shy" he goes on a trip by himself. The distance is 2945km and conditions are harsh (because crossing the desert??), and he has to overcome language barriers, etc. ETA: The news clip also said the budget was 10,000yen, and there was only 1 staff with him (to further emphasize him needing to rely on himself only)!

haha well I think most of India is pretty bilingual Hindi/English, so he'd probably be trying to speak English? either way, it'll be fun to watch XD

Awesome news XD
When Kisumai were juniors I thought a debuted idol's life is mostly about concerts, selling CDs and appearing in variety shows. I now learned that it also requires you to be able to eat frogs, snakes, a ridiculous amount of onions or senbei and backpack across India... An idol's life is hard ^^ (especially Fujigaya's).

Oh gosh, isn't he gonna start to film Beginners already!? How did they fit this into his schedule!? O_O
But I'm definitely looking forward to this. I like how JE has pinned a new way/direction for Kisumai from other debuted groups. Although what they have been through and done since debuted may be harsh/difficult, sometimes even unlike any previous JE idols, but I'm glad they're the first to pave this path and we're able to see something fresh and new from JE。

I'm pretty sure he's already finished the trip and filming. Apparently there was only 1 staff with him (plus cameraman? or just the 1 cameraman, I'm not sure XD) on the whole trip, and since there's already footage to show on the news that means they must have finished filming everything already. A friend and I were speculating that it might have been at the end of May in the 3 week gap in their concert tour.

And yeah I agree! They're definitely being pushed directly into the variety circuit rather than being ~idols~ first for a while (personally I think it's because the older 3 are... well, old 8D haha so they need to get established quickly).

Oh Mitsu!!! From Tokyo to India, that's going to be harsh. Is he already done with filming then? If it was somewhere close by I'd have gone... Standing on a road holding a placard saying Gaya lol

My opinion is that he's already done. Like I said in a comment above, if they already have footage to show on news shows then they must have finished the trip and come back to Japan...

Haha sometimes I wish they'd tell us where they're going too XD but I guess in terms of privacy and stuff it's better this way. I'm amazed at how well JE keeps quiet about things though!

and i read that it is a 8 days backpack journey alone, with10000 yen travel fee, including accomodation and travel fee,
no wonder people say it is like another ougon densetsu.

Ah, then he won't have to struggle with cutting down expenses like Tama had to though. 10000 yen = some 7000 INR, that is a comfortable amount of cash for a week long backpacking trip. Everything else will sadly be difficult, the climate, the languages, the food, the traveling... Lets hope Gaya is worth taking up all that to Kitayama ;)

OMG he looks so manly in those pics. Can't wait to see the show. Somehow kisumai changes my image of idol. Well they did all those ridiculous things that normal people wouldn't do...like live on oinion for one month, swim in 12degree c water, eat frogs and snake...XD

That's why I luv them so much<3

Yeah I agree an Idol's life is not all the glitz and glamor as one would imagine it to be.
I love too how these boys are being exposed to these kind I'd things early XD
LOL but man these challenges are tough. The weekly tasks at Hamakisu, the things they need to eat (and not eat lol)

I wonder how their daily calendar of activities look like. They're literally up to their necks lol
But it's a good thing both for them and for us.

Thank you so much for the news xDDDDDDDDDD~ New pics are being posted at the speed of light around Twitter. I love how Kisumai members have to face up with pretty "strange" challenges continuously. And yes, I agree that they must have finished filming this already. Mitsu's schedule was not so intense in previous weeks, so they must have filmed it back then. If not, fangirls around Asia will gather at India immediately and gosh, they don't want that ヾ(*´∀｀*)ﾉ.

I really love the 4th pic, and another pic in Twitter when he's on the train (or bus???) with some Indian men. Like in Moshimo Tours, Mitsu seems to get along well with people esp with guy buddies ヾ(*´∀｀*)ﾉ. I love how he could be so friendly and ordinary, not so idol-ish to me.

And yessssss~ taking bath in the river sounds HOTTTTTTT ヾ(*´∀｀*)ﾉヾ(*´∀｀*)ﾉヾ(*´∀｀*)ﾉ~~~~~~~~~~
