summary: "... Living only for the moment, turning our full attention to the pleasures of the moon, the snow, the cherry blossoms and the maple leaves; singing songs, drinking wine, diverting ourselves in just floating, floating..." In other words: 17th century, Edo & the floating world.
A/N: I was reading art history in may and the material about Japanese woodcut prints Ukiyo-e gave me inspiration for this fic. This was originally written in Finnish, but I decided to translate it.
The fic takes place in Yoshiwara, the red-light district in Edo [present-day Tokyo] during Tokugawa period on the 17th century. The inhabitants were geishas, courtesans, kabuki actors and also kagema, the male prostitutes.
( By that time the red lights lit the surroundings and the night of the nightless town could begin. )
